Important Information for Parents/Guardians to read prior to signing up:
Groups are ideal for children and adolescents who are interested in improving their social skills and are motivated to make new friends and connect with others. If your child does not want to participate, they will not be a good fit for this group.
As stated on our website, this group is not appropriate for children with a cognitive/intellectual impairment, severe Autism, behavioral needs, Selective Mutism, or other disability which requires them to receive intensive services at school. Because this is a group environment with only one facilitator, your child will not be able to receive individual support on a continuous basis. Group members should be able to understand age appropriate material, remain seated, and communicate clearly.
To ensure group safety, your child must be able to keep their hands to themselves and remain at their seat. Children with overly impulsive behavior such as running through the halls, yelling, and climbing on furniture will be removed. Children with tantrums or behavioral needs should first address those concerns with a behavioral therapist prior to starting group.
This group is not intended for children/teens with oppositional or defiant behavior such as talking back, purposely insulting or disrespecting group members, damaging property, or refusing to participate. If your child exhibits oppositional or anti-social behavior toward the facilitator or other group members, they will be removed immediately as it will have a negative impact on the group dynamic.
If you have questions or concerns about whether or not your child will be a good fit for this group, please contact the group facilitator.
Please note: Refunds are only provided within the first 7 days after registering, and up to 10 days prior to the first day of group. Our groups are typically full, so last minute cancelations greatly impact our registration process.
If your child is removed due to any of the concerns above once group has started, there are no refunds.
Group Fee: The fee for the group is set regardless of whether a member attends all or some of the sessions. This fee includes all materials including journals, writing utensils, binders, access to online content, etc. Full payment is due at the time of registration in order to reserve a member’s spot. If your child has participated in a prior group, please contact the group facilitator for 10%OFF.
Refund Policy: Refunds will be issued in full up to 1 week after registering for the group. Beyond that, payment is non-refundable unless the facilitator has to cancel the group due to unforeseen circumstances. If your child or teen is removed due to behavioral concerns, there is no refund.
Location: Please note that all groups will be held at the CMC Office Complex in Blue Ash. The address is: 10945 Reed Hartman Hwy Cincinnati, Ohio 45242
Additional Paperwork: After registering, you will see a link to complete the Group Counseling Registration Paperwork which is required. Please complete this ASAP.
